Confidence is key

This week we launched our podcast and we are so excited to get our voices out there. As boudoir photographers we have the amazing opportunity to educate the world about the exhilarating experience that is boudoir! We truly want to break down barriers and have open discussions about not only boudoir but also to educate about loving the skin you are in, loving who you are and the journey we take navigating life! We talked a lot about confidence this week, I can personally attest to the confidence boudoir gave me, not just getting in front of the camera and baring it all but it allowed me a chance to really break out of my shell. I’m not a people person unless I really know you so I’m not one to approach someone and start a conversation, boudoir has given me a reason to open myself up, a reason to use my voice. It also has allowed me to find the value within myself. In finding my value I have found myself more assertive, more confident, and surrounding myself with friends and family who see that value. I spent a long time giving a lot of myself to create relationships that never gave back. I have the confidence now to say I don’t need those kinds of relationships. I am worth so much more than that. If you are surrounding yourself with people who continually take and take without giving back you’ll find yourself empty, a hollow shell of yourself. How did boudoir do all of this? I finally saw myself in a completely different way. I was no longer just a mom and wife, I saw myself as this beautiful, strong woman and I had never seen myself like that before. It also showed me that it was ok to look at yourself and love the person looking back despite flaws and imperfections. People tend to confuse being confidence with being conceited. Who made the rule that says you can’t say “I’m hot!”?? So I challenge you to spend 5 minutes everyday looking at yourself in the mirror and tell that person looking back how amazing they are!
