Chasing Dreams
This week’s blog is going to be a little less boudoir based a little more life lesson based. Gary and I are both in our mid 30s and we both wish we had figured out what we wanted professionally a bit sooner. We chose to have me stay home with our kids when they were younger because it was what was best for our family and I don’t regret that but I look at other women who have full fledged careers and I admire them! I who wish I had found boudoir much sooner, I love what I do and plan to do it for many, many more years. The older you get your dreams being to feel like a race against time. You begin to feel like you are to old to chase those dreams, to old to out yourself out there and then one day you just realize “If I spend more time worrying about time I have left to achieve my dream instead of actually chasing them I’ll die never having achieved anything” Age is literally just a number, as cliche as it sounds. You are never too old to try new things, to go on adventures, chase your dream job, experience a boudoir shoot! We always have clients say “I want to do it while I am young” and I can tell you some of our most fun photoshoots have been with our more mature clientele! They have lived, they have stories to tell, life experience under their belts and they let their hair down and just have fun! It has taken me into my 30s to really be confident in myself. I spent my 20s so insecure and unsure of who I was I missed out on so much living! Letting go of all of those imperfections and embracing yourself is incredible! The age old (see what I did there) “mid life crisis” is really just realizing you have to start living life to the fullest instead of standing still watching time pass you by. So if you think you are too old to experience I am here to tell you, you are not! Boudoir has no age limit! Self love and feeling yourself has no age limit! Your body may change but they way you treat yourself absolutely should not change! Every phase of life is beautiful, each one different than the last but unique and they should all be savored in.
