What is Boudoir?

And Why You Should Book An Experience.

First off let’s talk about how Madison and I view Dark Room Boudoir. We view ourselves as a couple of kids teaching the world to love itself. Most people think of boudoir and they think a photos that are of naked women to give to a man to tease them. I’m not going to say that doesn’t happen… but that’s not what boudoir is.

Boudoir is a way to tell the world that you don’t give a damn what it thinks about you… and yes that includes your judgmental family and your ex who keeps talking shit. Boudoir teaches us to look in the mirror and accept who we are. All of our failures, body fat, abusive relationships, skinny legs and/or no ass, poor life choices, and the fact that you don’t have a million bucks, a yacht, and an endless travel budget (I might be projecting a little bit on that last one) - we let all of that define our self-worth… or what we think we should be worth to others.

See What Finding Your Self-Worth Looks Like

Maybe that’s not you, but you’ve lost a sense of you who you are. Big life changes can wreck your confidence… even if it’s a change you wanted and are happy with. It can leave us feeling like we are starting over or we lost who we were while starting a new chapter in our lives. Moving away from home, having a baby - especially our first - graduating college or switching jobs, gaining or losing a ton of responsibility all can make us feel like we aren’t enough and will never meet expectations. The point is life is a strange and curious beast that never stops fucking with us.

Now that’ve I have been sufficiently dramatic, let me explain why we believe in boudoir. Booking a boudoir experience, undressing in front of a camera, and letting someone take a million images of you is you is a powerful way to declare your body, decision, and self-image as something no one else has a say in.

Define Yourself

When you leave our studio you know that you took control and made a decision and you will have unbridled confidence to believe in yourself and remind yourself that you’ve got this. It’s exactly what it takes to reset your mindset. I’m not going to annoy you with another list of life’s stresses and pressures, but all of those things get slammed into perspective. Stress and life’s pressures are hard to deal with. We often go through life not having the confidence to make decision. A boudoir experience can be intimidating and hard to make yourself that vulnerable, but once you do and you come out the other side with a renewed sense of who you are, you will be unstoppable.

I don’t just see it with our amazing clients, I’ve watched Madison gain the confidence to be who she’s always felt she was. I’ll let her get into more detail from her perspective, but one of the biggest changes I’ve seen is that she stopped questioning her decisions or waiting for approval to make a decision.

Madison’s Boudoir

At the end of the day we have to live with who we are. Madison and I would love for you to look in the mirror and love what you see. If you don’t love it, we want you to have the confidence to challenge yourself to change it.

I’m not going to say “if this is for you…” because boudoir is literally for EVERYONE (even you dudes who think they need to gain/lose 10 lbs)… When you decide that you are ready feel the power of boudoir we can be contacted here (Dark Room Boudoir Contact). You can see all of our social media here (IG, TikTok, Vero Social).
